South MilfordSouth Milford is a small village in the district of Selby. Most people have not heard of this village because of its small size. However it now has links to the local motoring network which means that more & more people are becoming aware of this small village. One of the main attractions in the village is the Steeton Hall Gateway. Protected by the English Heritage and situated to the west of South Milford it has been there since the 15th Century. It has 2 arches passes, the large one which allowed horse and carriages through and one to the left of this for footmen As well as this, there is a staircase which spirals up and leads to a large room. The Gateway structure attracts visitors from all over because of its vast age and history |
