SettleLocated in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, Settle is a small market town. Just 29 miles from the Leeds Bradford International Airport it also has good rail links via Settle and Giggleswick railway stations. Settle is popular amongst holiday makers and tourists, attracting visitors from all over the world. The weekly Settle market is popular amongst both visitors and locals, held on a Tuesday in the centre of town it is surrounded by many local owned family businesses. The local area includes many caves the most famous being the Victoria Cave which was discovered on Queen Victorias accession day back in 1937 and contained the remains of reindeer, bear and mammoth amongst others. Settle is twinned with the French Mediterranean seaside town of Banyuls-sur-Mer. |
