Scarborough

On the coast of the North Sea, Scarborough has a population of around 50,000. It is actually the largest holiday resort on the Yorkshire coast. The town is probably most known for its high rocky promontory which points out to the north sea. It actually supports the ruins of Scarborough Castle which was built in the 11th Century. The rocks also separate the sea in front of it into North Bay and South Bay. The South Cliff Promenade offers fantastic views of the old town and the South bay and has been used as a setting for many postcards. A massive claim to fame for the town is that the ITV Television drama The Royal is filmed here. There is a huge list of famous faces that have classed Scarbourgh as home including a massive number of Coronation Street actors such as Liz Dawn and Malcom hebden. Other famous faces include Richard Dunn and Sir Jimmy Saville.
