In North Yorkshire Middlesbrough is actually located in the Borough of Middlesbrough and is the largest town within the borough. It differs from the other districts in the Teesside area because it is entirely urbanized, which means it is the smallest district but the largest town in population and area. Many of the near by towns make up the district of Middlesbrough, these include South Bank, Ormesby, Normanby, Grangetown and Eston. The town is located just a couple of miles from the North York Moors National Park on the south bank of the River tees. It is just 3 miles Teesport, the countries 2nd largest port and 8 miles from Tees Valley airport. It is also very near the Tees Estuary which is well known for its colony of breeding seals and the 7000 salmon and 13,000 trout which migrated upstream through the estuary in 2000.There are a number of well known people that come from the town of Middlesbrough these include, magician Paul Daniels and comedians Dave Morris, Bob Mortimer, Roy Chubby Brown and Kevin Connelly.
