Poulton-Le-Fylde

Known fondly by locals as Poulton, Poulton-le-Flyde is a town that has a population of around 20,000. Situation on the Irish Sea coast it is just a short distance from bigger seaside town Blackpool. Like many other north west towns, Poulten-le-Flyde has seen many famous footballers pass through its midst, including Paul Stewart, Georgie Mee and John Curtis. Legendary Hollywood actress Tessie O Shea also spent many years living in the town. There is so much history in the area that many people flock to the town just see the historic memorabilia that is there. In fact in 1970 a full size almost intact skeleton of an elk was found in the area and this is now homed at the Harris Museum in Preston
