OrmskirkThe town of Ormskirk is set on the side of a ridge on sloping grown. It’s high point is 223ft above sea level. The town also has an Edge Hill University which means there are many students in the area helping business thrive. There are a great many football legends and well knowns that come from the area, including Billy Ayre, Duncan Ferguson, Jimmy O Neil and Stephen Warnock. Impressionist and comedian Jon Culshaw is also from Ormskirk. The town is on the A59 road in between Liverpool and Preston. The main businesses based in the town are those of estate agents, architects and solicitors although the town also has a large retail park with many shops, bars and restaurants. |
