Morecambe

Probably most famous recently for its Midland Hotel renovation and re-opening Morecambe is a seaside town on the Flyde coast. The whole town as recently had a make over with Urban Splash giving many buildings and area’s a whole new look – Including the whole of the promenade which has had new park area’s, new cafes and a whole new look. Once deemed as Blackpools biggest competitor the sea-side town has in the past had a theme park known as Frontier Land, which closed some time ago with many of the rides being sold off to other theme parks in the UK. The Midland Hotel is a massive white building on the promenade which re-opened in 2008 after an 18 month renovation project. Many famous faces come from Morecambe in fact Eric Morecambe even changed his surname as a tribute to the resort. There is also a large theatre in Morecambe called The Dome which the Kiaser Chiefs’s used to hold an exclusive and secret gig in the summer recently.
