Clayton-Le-WoodsA large village in the borough of Chorley, Clayton-le-Woods in Lancashire has a population of over 14,000. The village is only a short distance from both Leyland and Bamber Bridge, and is only a few minutes drive from Preston. The village is very sub urban with lots of leafy green areas. Although only a small village it has good connections from 2 junctions on the M6, the M65 and the M61 so reaching the village is easy. There are 2 main areas of the village - these are separated by the Lostock river & Cuerden Valley park. The village is full of history and heritage and in fact in the grounds of Cuerden Hall charcoal burning still takes place. |
